  • We believe that faith in God is very personal and individual, but every aspect of our church can help you develop and sustain your faith. We believe that participation in worship is very important because it provides a time and place for you to reinforce God’s presence in your life and to respond to his love for you. However, we also believe that every aspect of our congregational life together helps us to reach out to God in what we say, who we are and what we do.
  • The Presbyterian Church of La Porte has a rich history, dating back to 1832, and we’ve always been as mindful of our heritage as we are hopeful about our future. We reach out in Christ’s love to serve all those in need, seeking diversity in membership, in service, in mission and in program, so that everyone we reach can find the way to Christ.
How Can You Get involved?
  • Attend worship service any Sunday morning at 10:30am. The message . . . the music . . . the prayers . . . and the fellowship should enable you to sense that this is a church alive!
  • Participate in Church School programs at 9:00am on Sunday morning. There are bible study and two types of contemporary discussion groups for adults and classes for all ages of children and teenagers.

  • Visit the calendar, announcements and newsletter sections of our website (www.laportepresbyterian.org) and select from among the many fellowship activities to get better acquainted with other church members.
  • Attend our New Member Classes which are held quarterly to prepare you for the joys and responsibilities of church membership

How Can You Learn More?

  • Talk with one of the pastors or the "Evangelist of the Month", who is on duty each Sunday morning at the rear of the Sanctuary and during the fellowship hour which follows. They will gladly answer any questions you might have about the church, participation in church activities or (joy!) how you might become a member of the church
